Rutledge Secures GOP Nomination for Lieutenant Governor

5/24/2022

LITTLE ROCK - Republican voters in Arkansas have chosen Attorney General Leslie Rutledge to be their party’s nominee for Lieutenant Governor. Initial election results show Rutledge secured the nomination with over 50% of the GOP vote, clearing the six-way primary challenge without a runoff election.
“I am humbled and honored to be the Republican nominee for Arkansas Lieutenant Governor and look forward to victory in November!” Rutledge told her supporters at an election watch party. “Tonight, Republican voters have again sent a message that they want experienced conservative leadership fighting the woke agenda of Biden’s Liberal Left. As the next Lt. Governor of our great state, I will continue to fight for Arkansans’ individual liberties, constitutional rights, and conservative values.”

Attorney General Rutledge extended her congratulations to all of the victorious Republican candidates who prevailed tonight. Rutledge entered the crowded Lt. Governor’s race on November 10, 2021, and will now face a Libertarian and Democratic challenger during the General Election on November 8th. If elected, Rutledge, Arkansas’s first woman and first Republican Attorney General, would also be the State’s first female Lieutenant Governor.
